Ann Leonard-House @DigPink Donations!

The tally is in!

We are so very excited to be able to announce our first fundraising totals!  To have this kind of support the first time we ever did this is incredible.  THANK YOU to ALL who donated and to all who sponsored or purchased T-Shirts.  EVERY PENNY raised helps!

Breast Cancer is a horrible disease.  Your donation will help.

  • About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
  • In 2014, an estimated 232,670 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 62,570 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.
  • About 40,000 women in the U.S. were expected to die in 2014 from breast cancer, though death rates have been decreasing since 1989 — with larger decreases in women under 50.
  • These decreases are thought to be the result of treatment advances, earlier detection through screening, and increased awareness.
  • For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer, besides lung cancer.
  • Besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women.  Just under 30% of cancers in women are breast cancers.

Ann has been a part of this ever growing group of courageous women for about 120 days.  During these days she went from totally healthy, unaware cancer existed in her body, through chemo, lost all her hair, multiple infections, through surgery, 5 hospitalizations to possibly being rid of positive cancer cells being found!  INCREDIBLY because of great doctors and because others cared to fund research.

She has never once lost her smile.  Ann and the 232,670 new women who joined a club of thousands of courageous women, none of whom asked to be part of this club… are heroes.  An inspiration to all of us.  Help the Side-Out Foundation continue to help them and help their doctors.

Ann, E&T at DigPink

The care teams at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute are amazingly detailed, meticulous in their approach and always caring and empathetic.  THANK YOU!

Certainly this is true other places.  They all continue to need our help and support.

Find A Way.

If it is financially, through volunteering, writing encouraging letters or sending encouraging artwork, donating blood,  anything to help keep funding for research and a cure going.

THANK YOU!
