Congratulations to the Class of 2009.
I love to listen to enshrinement speeches. Also, players and coaches interviews after winning championships as well as interviews after losing championships. There is so much to learn about a person during these times. Their character. The strife they have faced and overcome. You have to sort through some of the polished, media savvy BS; but generally on nights like last night the emotion comes through and the practiced media persona leaves.
John Stockton and Jerry Sloan were by far my favorites. Humble to a point of being uncomfortable about all the attention. Coach Stringer wasn’t too far behind. I have been amazed at her will ever since I coached at Rutgers when she arrived in 1995. I missed David Robinson’s, will catch it off TiVo. Michael Jordan REALLY surprised me. I never expected Michael to let his guard down in public and make comments like the ones regarding Jerry Krause or Doug Collins. Shows you, even the greatest get caught in the emotional snare if not careful.
There are so many good quotes, articles and videos. Here are a collection of my favorite ones. Enjoy.
