Manhattan College hosted the third annual ‘Clinic to End All Clinics’, a basketball coaches workshop conducted by Howard Garfinkel, the founder of Five Star basketball camp. This year’s clinic was held on Friday, September 17, 2010 in Draddy Gymnasium.
The event featured sessions instructed by Naismith Hall of Fame coaches C. Vivian Stringer (Rutgers) and Jim Calhoun (Connecticut), along with Lawrence Frank, the NBA’s New Jersey Nets franchise winningest coach, Tom Izzo (Michigan State), who has led the Spartans to six NCAA Final Fours and the 2000 National Championship, and Jay Wright (Villanova), former Naismith College Coach of the Year.
The notes include diagrams and cover topics such as: UConn Shooting drills, Coach Stringer’s legendary “55 Press”, how to utilize Time-Outs, Player Development from Jay Wright and the forgotten X’s & O’s.
50 pages of really good stuff provided by Jim Ponchak. Jim is a first year coach at Fairlawn High School in North Jersey. Good notes Jim, thanks for sharing.
