Q: As our players get older and the recruiting process becomes more important, what is the best way to get a recruit noticed?

Recruiting Network

ABR:  Exposure, quality exposure.  I believe exposure can be cultivated. When student-athletes are young (12-13 yrs) mailings and emails can be done to colleges and universities to help get the PSA on the radar.  Honestly though, major Division I schools get so much prospective student mail and email that it’s hard to say if anything more than an intro is valuable.

After 9th grade there is really no substitute for attending events.  Targeting events where: 1) many colleges attend and evaluate  2) where larger scouting services attend, and 3) where some of the Internet sites attend.  Players are then “on the list”.  After that, they have to work and perform to create a “buzz.”
